Newbie with a few questions.

Post by Gsniper »

I havn't run since the mid 80's and just had a couple of questions so I don't show up in Danville this weekend looking like an idiot.

Helmet requirements - My normal helmet is a pro-tec style helmet, is this going to get it? If not, what's a reasonably priced helmet that meets the specs?

Other than doing my online registration, is there anything administrative I need to do before the weekend?

I know we have to work at the race, shag cones or whatever. What's the best thing for a noob like me?

Any tips that would help me not look foolish would be greatly appreciated.
(or tell me something silly like a snipe hunt if that's the way it works)

Thanks for any input.

Hi Charlie!

Helmet: Check to make sure that your helmet meets one of the following: Snell M or SA 2015, 2010, or 2005. There are a few other certifications that will work if it is not Snell certified, but plain-old DOT certification won't cut it.

Online registration is all you need, just make sure that you check in with registration to let them know that you are on-site.

Shagging cones is generally the easiest job. If you have any physical limitations that might make that difficult, we can accommodate that as needed.

Even if its cold out, bring sunscreen: Its easy to get burnt when its cold.

We look forward to having you!

Thanks, I may just go with a loaner helmet until I figure out what's what with this game.

I get around fine physically, so I'm up for whatever the crew needs.

Looking forward to it, I havn't run one of these since 1986 when I was a teenager.
