Heads up to the Club racers who expect Double Race weekends to count for two races and therefore allow them to meet the yearly minimum race requirement.
Many Regions are starting to hold double race weekends under one SCCA Sanction number. It is the sanction number that is required to fulfill one race requirement, therefore a double race weekend held under one sanction number counts for one race. Check the supplemental regulations for the race weekend, they should list the one or more sanction numbers for the races held (i.e. one sanction for a SARRC race, and one sanction for an Enduro).
Word on the street (or track), indicates that the Summit Point Labor Day double will be held under one sanction number.
For those non-racers; the Labor Day double is typically the one event that most racers needing their required 2 yearly races would attend. This usually provided exciting racing during the weekend, since many of the yearly renewal racers only raced during that one weekend each year.
