Moving Back to VA
My wife and I have decided that DC/Metro area life isn't for us and we're on a trek to be back down the SWVA area in 3-5 months between the cost of living and long commutes we've decided its not worth it. Got a couple of leads in the Blacksburg area that will hopefully develop into jobs.
So the question is what areas to rent should I look at. I'll be working in blacksburg, so something around blacksburg, radford, christiansburg would be perfect.
Just wanted to know if anyone had any reccomendations where they've lived before, or what places to avoid?

There are several houses up on the market in my subdivision in C'burg. Some families are relocating. They aren't for rent, so if you're looking solely for that, they may not be of interest to you. I've been out of the renting game for a few years, so I'm not sure how much help I would be.

Car Inspections
I've got a 99% of being down in the area now come June and I need to know if theres anything I should be concerned about with the VA car inspection. I've got an intake, header and exhaust. No leaks and everything passes emmisions, sniffer and odb2. Tein coilovers aprox 1.5" drop.
Is there anything I should be concerned about? I have access to stock parts for the most part other than a stock cat pipe which I should be able to get for fairly cheap if necessary but I'd prefer to avoid the time required to accomplish that. As far as I can tell, "by the rule" it should pass.
Thanks!

Steve,
Thanks for looking out for me but I actually have a meeting with some people on Thursday, job is pretty much mine. Just have to see what the workplace is like, not step on any toes and I'll start moving everything during next month.
Know of any good climate controlled storage places down there? Need a place to put our stuff till we buy in a few months and the wife comes down.
I love working on cars as a hobby(mine and my friends) but don't think I could do it as a day to day job.

Got the Job! I Move down and begin my first week of work in June. Can't wait to get more involved in the club, as I plan on being there for a long time.
Glenn, thanks for the info. I'll have to check it out. We're on the waiting list for on in Radford for the first week of June, so as the date draws nearer we'll get more desperate for a place.
