Go Kart Classes

Post by drum3 »

When we do the Karts at VIR ,I think we need 3 or 4 seperate classes,Lightweight-Anyone under 150lbs, Medium-Betwen 150-200Lbs and Heavy-over 200lbs.And we could also throw in there a ladies class !!!Me and David and a few others are tired of these LIGHTWEIGHTS kicking our butts, its time to do weight ballasting or seperate classes :D

I was think more along the lines of qualifying times.... along with weight.. should I bring a scale or is "eyeball" good enough?

MAX of 12 karts on track at any time.....

2 - 12-15 minute warm up sessions.
2 - 12-15 minute qualifying sessions.

"Kart Lights" 12 lap race (Invert field... fans choice)
"Kart Heavy" 12 lap race

"Kart Lights" 12 lap race (Inverted according to first race finish)
"Kart Heavy" 12 lap race

Should Kill 2 hours or 20 drivers... which ever comes first.

Shawn, I could lose soome weight, but I'm never getting under 150 lbs.And there are those that are well over 6 feet and will never,no matter how skinny ,get under 200lbs.,,50lbs extra on a kart ,up the backstretch at VIR will kill your momentum !!
