What kinda 1/8 mile times did you turn? Back when I had an SVT Lightning, my truck used to run 8.6's up there.

I ran a 9.3.. I think I could get into the mid 8's if I could get the launch off the line figured out... too much wheel spin in first and second gear. I thought there would be more grip on the starting line but I had way too much wheel spin. I think if I did an autocross launch I would have done better.. I broke out on my first run, so I was done.

Yeah, wheelspin can be a pain in a car/truck with a lot of torque. I think I used to feather the throttle around 2,500-3,000 rpms in my Lightning until the rear tires hooked up. Anything more, and the rears would just light up in massive smoke clouds. 450ft-lbs of torque wasn't easy to control even on 295 sized Goodyear F1 tires.

So the starting line surface isn't that grippy to street tires? I was wondering if it was or not because I had a crazy notion to try eastside out once. If grip is lowish I won't have to worry about bogging with my massive 100lbs or torque at the wheels!

Every track I've gone to with a two wheel drive car has had worse than street levels of grip off the line. No clue why...maybe I'm imagining things. :|

The WRX...that's another story lol 8.6 in the 1/8 stock :D

Eastside Speedway is where I did my first autocross.
