Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
The flyer for the Feb. 20th banquet, and the officer/awards ballot was mailed today. Watch for yours, and please return the ballot even if you can't make it to the banquet. Notice that online registration has been added this year, through the link on the home page of this website. You can still register by mail - those instructions are also on the flyer.
See you at the banquet.

It might not be around long. I've been shopping for a secret replacement. Once I find it, the Miata is being sold to my niece.

Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
Too much for a 4 cyl kind of guy. My requirements are simple - under $10k, legal in Solo stock classes and racing Showroom Stock classes, under 3k lbs, class competitive, street legal, right color (no red, no yellow). How about an AS Corvette

Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
Right mfg, wrong model. I've been looking for a Mazda 3. It and the Mini seem to be the only HS/SSC competitive cars.Miata?

Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
Glenn- get a Mazda 3. Mini's are great for auto-x, not so hot for SSC (sorry Ray). You also get Mazdaspeed's support and contingency $$.
There's been several for sale at the sccaforums.com (including the '08 Runoff's winner).

Most exceeding my $10k limit. I'd also prefer something more local so I can check it out. There's been several for sale at the sccaforums.com (including the '08 Runoff's winner).
Mazdaspeed support is a major reason the 3 is high on the list.

Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
what about a mazdaspeed protege? they've still got a fair amount of mazdaspeed support and i cant imagine that they'd be that uncompetitive in ssc or auto-x. just a bit on the rare side.
Hey, what does this thing do *zap* oww,.... so that's what it does!
Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
S2000, you can find AP1s for around 10k.

Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
+1 An S2000 would be a nice change. Honda typically has decent contingency in solo, and possibly road racing. I did see in a GRM or SportsCar magazine not too long ago, that they were starting up a program for amateur racers that would allow them to buy OEM parts at discounted prices (similar to Mazda Motorsports).brokenplastic wrote:S2000, you can find AP1s for around 10k.

Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
Neither the Mazdaspeed Protege nor the S2000 is legal in SSB/SSC. S2000 goes in T2. I'm also looking for more interior room then the S2k has.

Re: Banquet flyer & Officer/Awards ballot
There's a couple of MP3 Protege's floating around, but they are not as competitive as a 3. Check out Joel Lipperini's Racelabz up in Penn- think he's building a couple of Integra GSR's in the low ten's. A couple of guys in the S.E. are building Focus SVT's, which s/be another good ride (but no Mazdaspeed...).
