misfire in colt, need help

Post by n33d4sp33d13 »

ok so its getting to the point im gonna need help figuring this out. the colt has a misfire when it is under full throttle and at boost. also looks to be running rich. ive changed spark plugs, checked the wires, checked all the vaccum lines, checked the idle and timing, checked for boost leaks, it looks to have good fuel pressure, and ive also cleaned the injectors. any other ideas?

Usually when I can't figure something out, it has to do with emissions. Rip it all out and try again

I'd go through ignition circuit again (coil, cap, rotor, wires). I had a full load misfire in a car and it was ignition wires. Even though they resistance checked OK, the wires had an internal break.

^^What Tim said. full load misses tend to be caused by a weak ignition system. Also, does it seem to be any different at higher RPM?

Open the distributor and check the wires inside. My race car had a bad miss/flat spot at low RPM. I finally found wires with the insullation worn off inside the distributor.
