Mick Seal

Post by JaneCombs »

Everyone say a prayer and think good thoughts for Mick Seal who is recovering from heart surgery this morning. Cindy reports that Mick is doing well, is off the respirator, has excellent vitals, and is having good reports from his doctors.

MIck and Cindy will miss the banquet, but I will bring a get-well card to be signed by those who wish to. If you want to send an email, you can reach Mick's email under the "Staff" cone on the BRR home page.

I'll post an update on Mick's progress, when he's coming home, etc., as soon as I hear more news from Cindy.

I have just had a p.m. from a BRR member who wanted to send a card to Mick at home. If anyone else would like to send a card, p.m. me for the address.

Update on Mick: Cindy reports that Mick is making excellent progress. He will be in the hospital a few more days, and will then be recuperating briefly with family in Richmond before returning home. Mick is really looking forward to coming to the first BRR event in March, although he is not sure whether he will be released to drive by then.

Glad to hear he's doing well after this major kind of surgery. Still in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Surgery

Post by mseal »

After much thought and trying to stay within the structure of the Solo Regs, I determined that by removing the normal aortic valve and replacing it with a "high speed" artificial valve, I could possibly gain 0.002 seconds from the weight reduction in the driver. Afterall, I can't do anymore to the car and Anthem will be the major sponsor for the performance enhancements this season. Just kidding. It is now Wednesday afternoon and I just arrived home (in Nelson) from my surgery and recuperative time in Richmond. Thanks to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers and I'm feeling remarkably well considering the scar I have th show off now. I intend to be at the March event, however I will not be competing. Something silly about the bind/twist/pressure on my chest. Time will tell how much of the competitive season I will be ujnable to participate in, but I still plan to be there bright and early with Ray to take care of all your waiver needs. Thanks again!

Is a "modified" heart legal in the stock classes?

Great to hear you are doing so well!

Mick,

Glad to hear you are doing well. What are doing, trying to catch my LSD record (Longest Scar of the Day)? Good luck and hope to see you soon.
