BRR-SCCA

Please plan to attend the BRR-SCCA picnic held at the VIR Plantation Kart track on May 22, 2010 starting at 2:00pm. There will be a team Kart Enduro at the Plantation Kart track at 4:00pm.

The Enduro schedule will be for teams of 3 or more drivers. Cost of the enduro is $150.00 per team to cover the 3 hour Kart track rental. A maximum of 12 teams may enter the Kart Enduro.
A minimum weight per team is 500 lbs of combined weight so all the light weight drivers can not dominate us fat boys. So spread the wealth or weight around and have a good time.

We will have a 45 minute practice/qualifying for the teams so all drivers get in some practice laps. We will then line up on grid and start a 2 hour enduro. Everyone feel free to help make up the rules, especially the Club Racer Enduro drivers.

If you do not want to drive, bring the family out for the picnic and some good bench racing.

BRR-SCCA will provide the hot dogs and hamburgers, all the fix-ens along with soft drinks and water. If you would like to bring a side dish, please feel free to do so. BRR also could use a couple of grills since none are available at the Kart track. Covered shelter and picnic tables are provided by the Plantation Kart Track.

Team registration will be on the web site so we know what to expect.

We will be teaching Triads Autocross School at the Airport that day so I guess that means we wont make the picnic or Enduro but we will try to swing by sometime after 5 or 6 .

Two of my friends from NC State and I will have a team there. We were training for this event last weekend at VIR by running against 2-time NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart (I won't mention how badly he beat us... )

Long pants, long sleeves, closed-toe shoes, full-face helmet, and a neck brace. They have neck braces and loaner helmets at the track.

I'll be there. Phil and I alone make up most of 500lbs...now we need a three year old girl so we're right at 500

It will most likely be a combination ... if you already have a 3+ team then that is great... if you do not have a team we will match you up at the enduro or size up folks after they stuff themselves on goodies at the picnic. Just do not puke in your full face helmet... really makes a mess.

Recruited my 3rd team member over the weekend. I say the three of us combined, come in under 510. Is that close enough?

I would say that is good... I think I can hit the weight requirement all by myself

Need more drivers... tell your friends... all are welcome.

30 drivers is break even....

Have you posted it over at SWVR or Triad? I'm sure some of those guys would be interested.

Last time I browsed the entry list, I noticed the entries were posted twice. I assume once for the picnic, and again for the kart racing?

I also noticed some people who I think would be in attendance, not registered yet. I'd hate to miss out on another karting event due to low attendance...

TRIAD has been invited... they are having an autocross school on the same Saturday with an autocross on Sunday.. one could make a week-end of racing by doing the BRR Karts and the Triad Autocross at Danville Airport.

Only 10 drivers have signed up... why delay? Invite you friends and neighbors ... all are welcome.

One of my best friends is getting married that day at the beach so my brother and I are out. Otherwise I crave karting excitement...

I need 14 more drivers to have the Kart enduro.. if we do not have enough drivers by Sunday May 16, 2010 we will be forced to cancel the event.

I'm working on our Club Racing team. I hope we can get a team together and join the fun. Sounds like a blast!

Can the Enduro be pushed back an hour or 2 ? I think we could get 10-15 Triad instructors/students to join in if that was the case .

The school is what's keeping me and a couple friends out. Pushing it back so we could attend both events would help.

I think we are going to change from an Enduro to a 1 hour Sprint race for the 10 drivers that are signed up... we can have a max of 12 drivers.. so sign up before it is full..

Only way 14 drivers can get into 12 karts is to share... we only have enough drivers for 1 hour of track rental. If you want to drive we can get you into a kart but it may not be for a full hour... we can work out the details at the track once we have everyone.

I do not think I can do 1 hour in one of those karts... 20 on 30 minutes at a time and I need a rest. Make sure you bring gloves for driving, full face helmet, neck brace, long sleeve shirt, long pants, and closed toe shoes. Helmets, neck braces and driving suits are available at the track. I also wear a rib proctor.. took a trip across the gators with the seat up in my ribs once...

I suspended new registrations and put #13 and #14 on a waiting list so there are only 12 confirmed participants.

Guys, I would have liked to make this but I can't work it out. I've been helping my in-law's cope with some aging issues in recent weekends, have to keep it going for awhile longer.

Fingers crossed we do it again next year!

Everyone headed up for this plan on hanging out with the TSCC gang when you are done. We will tentatively be at Hams restaurant around 7 or 7:30 . Lots of good conversation and a little BS , OR POSSIBLY THE OTHER WAY AROUND !.

I had LOADS of fun! Even when I got punted into the tire wall going into the esses.

Sore from the fingertips to the elbows. But it was well worth it. No luck catching the 43 kart, he was definitely in the zone.
