Description:
Selling my '93 Miata. I bought the car two years ago from a friend and have done a lot of little things to clean it up and make it a fun daily driver. I intended to continue commuting in the car and run it in the street tire class this year, but I recently bought a new car and I don't like the idea of not being able to garage both of them. So Porsche>Miata => Miata is for sale. While I have owned it, the car has been garaged from March to November, and it spends winters in a hangar at the airport. I guarantee that you can not find a more fun car for this amount of money. My commute to work is mainly backroads and I average a little over 35MPG. I have done a lot to remove weight from the car and with ~1/4 tank of fuel it currently weighs 1990 pounds with the hardtop installed (1945 pounds with hardtop removed). The car is still comfortable though and far from gutted.
Long list of stuff I've done recently (that I can remember):
Painted hardtop, made aluminum solid side brackets
Replaced rear window trim seal
Replaced windshield
Seats from '99 Miata
Replaced trans fluid and rear diff fluid
Regular oil changes (of course)
Converted to all black interior
Rear cockpit brace from M
Front and rear lips
Tokico shocks/springs
Aerovoltz aircraft lithium battery (500CCA, weighs just 3 pounds! $300 battery!)
Test pipe
HKS air filter
Front sway bar
Converted to manual steering rack + nice alignment
Lightweight steering wheel
edit:
New radiator and 180degF thermostat
New starter
New NGK spark plugs and NGK wires
A/C delete kit PKNA01-61-150A
I have a few crates of all the stock parts I have removed from the car...the car is not perfect, it has some scratches, dings, etc. The pictures probably make the car look nicer than it is. And probably the worst thing about the car is that the clutch slips at WOT. The clutch is fine at anything under WOT, so it can be driven anywhere no problem and likely for thousands of more miles. I have purchased a new Exedy clutch and lightweight flywheel for it. If I get the full asking price for the car then the buyer can have those along with it. I have put a bit of time and money into the car, so my wife will strangle me if I budge on the price. Also not looking for any trades. At all.
Thanks!
