BRR-SCCA Picnic and Kart Racing @ VIR Kart Track 9/14/2013

Registration is open for the BRR-SCCA Picnic and Kart Racing at the VIR Kart Track on Saturday September 14, 2013. There will be 20 driver positions open for Kart racing.. we have had some really close races in the past.. so get registered today on a first come gets to race basis.

BRR Kart Raacing and Family Picnic Saturday September 14, 2013 at the VIR Plantation Valley Kart Track

The picnic is open to members and potential members and their families...all are welcome. The club will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments, plates, utensils, and soft drinks. Attendees may bring a side dish, chips, dessert, etc, but it is not required

There is no fee for the picnic.

The fee for kart racing is $55.00 with a limit of 20 drivers.

Schedule

11:00 AM - 11:30 AM Arrival and registration

11:30 AM Required driver's meeting for all kart drivers

VIR Kart Track rules and regulation will apply along with the VIR waivers. http://virnow.com/karting/policies/

Noon - 2:00 PM Kart Racing

One 15 minute practice which will be about 3 or 4 laps per driver to get use to the kart.

Then 15 minute races rotated between 2 groups of 10 drivers.

2:00 PM - ? Family Picnic

Can we make the skinny drivers carry more weight like they do in horse racing?

I want to say that at one of the past karting events we splits the race groups by weight.

We will have a heavy class and a lite class.. You decide where you fall.. Break will be at about 170/180 pounds.. We will decide at the drivers meeting.

We need more drivers to make the Kart racing happen. You do not need to be a member to race or enjoy the picnic. Come out and enjoy an afternoon of kart racing and bench racing at the picnic. First drivers to sign up get the spots on the grid.

Better get registered. As an extra incintive I just received a press release from VIR announcing there new stratos 270cc karts
