Plans for 2016

Post by tehmaxfactr »

Anyone have plans to race a certain car in a certain class in 2016?

I plan on racing mostly my e street NB in PAX class. Probably will drive Biscuit at some of the Danville events as well.

At some point this season the s13 hatchback with a Buick aluminum v8 will make an appearance. No idea when though. Still loads of work to do on it. Until then, it will be the s14.

Trying to decide whether to stay in STS with the Miata, or find some 15x5.5 wheels to move to E-Street. The tire choices for 14" wheels are pretty slim.

Just picked a 84 audi coupe gt as a new daily. It should make it to a few events but given all the work done to it i doubt i want to race a season in smf again. Haha

PAX seems to be where the fun happens...its great that you can run in the same class, regardless of the car you drive.

I think I'm going back to CAM this year. I may return to PAX when I put shocks on the car, but I found it frustrating to compete with fully-prepped cars whereas mine isn't. I ended up paying too much attention to other people's times and my own driving suffered as a result. Instead of pulling myself together I feel apart - Need to spend some time tightening the nut behind the steering wheel. That said, I finally acquired a set of staggered OZ Ultraleggeras and added an intake, charge pipes, and a high-flow cat. Not yet sure if I'll need to get another tune or not. And who knows, the RX-7 may be seen at an event or two.

Also, a friend just bought a C6 with the LS3 and is planning to come out to several events with me.

PAX class isnt for me. dont have the money, or sadly the stable or cars to make it worthwhile. Plus i had fun this year running the hyundai in 2 clubs. Even if its on a set of all seasons haha

I might be joining you guys in E-street in my NB, although the 6-speed might be a problem.

I am ditching my 5 speed car for the 6speed. I don't think it is a problem as long as you can shift.

I'll be honest Scott, for Verona I believe you'll have a good advantage with the 6-speed, er, Buckie too! I still envy that beautiful blue of the 10AE's... should be some good stuff this year!

Only made it to a total of 4 events (in 3 different cars) last year, so definitely going to try and change that. Going to try to make it down for the season opener at Salem and some of the Verona events as well.
