$1500
163,000 miles, 2 Liter DOHC
Right after I bought this car, I said I would never sell it to someone that I knew. But, the thing has never left me on the side of the road and I have undone most of the evils that were in the thing and replaced a few parts along the way. The car runs and drives very well, currently, and is a great highway commuter. This car was formerly an STS autocross car (formerly Justin Rest's car) and could probably be returned to that status pretty easily…or could be a good start on an ITA build. I am selling the car because I recently inherited my wife's '99 GTI for a daily driver and the Neon is an extra, extra car now.
The Good:
-Koni single adjustable struts all around
-Urethane bushings throughout
-Mopar Sport Springs
-Header
-Underdrive Pulley
-Filter on a stick intake
-Aftermarket driver’s seat
-15x7 Sportmax 5-spoke wheels
-New tires with about 4k miles on them
-Bottom end was rebuilt at some point before I bought the car
-34-36 mpg on the highway
-Front strut tower bar
The not so Good:
-It’s a Dodge Neon
-Transmission is a little noisy in 1st/2nd gear (been that way since I bought it)
-AC has been removed, but have parts to re-install
-Radio currently does not work (I am still troubleshooting it though)
-Has some rust on the rear quarter at the fuel filler door
-It’s a Dodge Neon
I have owned this car for about 13,000 miles. Since taking ownership I have done the following maintenance/repair:
-Replaced gas tank (pinhole in the bottom)
-Replaced alternator
-Replaced both front CV axles
-Replaced driver’s side wheel bearing and hub
-Replaced thermostat
-Repaired hacked up main power cable that was causing various fault codes
-Moved battery back to the front with more reliable cables/ground
-Fixed various squeaks and rattles (but not every one)
The car is located in Roanoke. PM me if interested.
